One of my favorite exhibits that has ever resided at the High Museum of Art here in Atlanta, Iris van Herpen: Transforming Fashion, is in its final few months. The exhibit, which was the first fashion design exhibit ever at the High, opened last November and featured a highlight of incredible work from contemporary Dutch fashion designer Iris van Herpen. 45 outfits in total are on dispaly from 15 of van Herpen’s collections.
Take a look at my favorites from my visit on opening night below.
What is truly inspiring about her work is her use of the latest technology combined with new and old handcrafted techniques inspired by the arts, sciences, music and more. The recent advancement of 3D printing has provided an explosion of creativity in the fashion industry, and van Herpen’s designs are stunning examples of that creativity.
The Iris van Herpen: Transforming Fashion Exhibit runs until May 15, 2016 at the High Museum in Atlanta. Be sure to see it while you can! We had a great time checking it out!
